Halong Bay | Bhaya Cruise Review

Halong Bay had been on my travel wish list for as long as I can remember - so when we chose it as a stop on our honeymoon, my expectations were sky-high. And you know what? It not only lived up to them - it exceeded every single one.

It was, without a doubt, one of the most incredible places I’ve ever been. The entire UNESCO World Heritage Site felt ancient, majestic and impossibly beautiful. I couldn’t take my eyes off the towering limestone islands rising out of the water, each one topped with lush green rainforest. Cruising through the still, emerald waters was completely surreal - so peaceful and calming, and exactly what we needed after the wedding buzz.

Why You Should Study Abroad (& My Experience)

Studying overseas in a foreign country may be one of the most beneficial experiences for a university student. I studied abroad in Germany 2015 and it was the greatest year of my life. If you are thinking about going on an exchange- go for it! Here are five reasons why you should along with snippets of my own experience.

BALI | Travel Guide & Tips

(Note: I first wrote this guide in 2017, and it has been refreshed in 2025).

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to visit this incredible Island of the Gods five different times and experience Bali in so many different ways - from romantic couples trips, to a fun getaway with friends, a solo adventure, and even a family holiday with a toddler. Each time has shown me a different side of this incredible island, and I fall a little more in love with it every visit.

Whether you're dreaming of sipping cocktails by the pool, exploring temples and waterfalls, shopping in cute boutiques or eating the best Nasi Goreng of your life (or all of the above) - Bali has something for everyone.

This updated Bali travel guide is full of tips, first-timer advice, and all my favourite things to do, see and eat. Whether it's your first visit or your fifth, I hope it helps you plan a magical trip!

10 Stunning Places to visit in Europe

Europe is hands-down my favourite continent in the world. The sheer diversity packed into one continent is incredible - from sunny coastlines to snow-capped mountains, charming old towns to buzzing modern cities.

My big 2017 Travel goals

I briefly touched on my 2017 goals for my travel blog in my final post of last year, which as a quick overview- were to grow my blog, expand my writing in my new categories and chase opportunities to become a professional travel blogger.

I've spent quite a bit of time thinking about what my actual travel goals are for this year.

Hanoi Travel Diary & Vietnam Reflection

Hanoi, a little summary

Hanoi was a different experience to Ho Chi Minh City. Whether I liked it more or not - I couldn't quite tell, nor put my finger on exactly how the two differed so much. I think because we were staying in the very centre of town in Hanoi the people were just so condensed into such a small space.

I enjoyed that experience to a degree - witnessing the busy hectic lifestyle, the street markets where people are literally sitting on the sidewalk chopping fish and meat. It was fascinating and I enjoy learning about and seeing such different cultures and lifestyles.

Year round-up & 2017 Travel blog goals!

This year- as usual, has flown by in the blink of an eye and boy has it been a good one!
(Aside from all of the celebrity deaths- let's not even go there).
I thought it would be a nice way to finish up by having a look through and doing a quick summary of my year and some of the things I got up to.

As well as reading this blog post I made a YouTube video of my 2016 extras and highlights which you can watch here if you're interested:
