What have I been up to? 2021 Update

Hi all! Whoops, I can't believe I haven't posted since the beginning of the year. It's been such a busy first few months of 2021, it's been awesome!

I landed an awesome full-time role as a videographer/ Digital Coordinator with a great company. It's kept me super busy working many weekends as well, and I've been loving getting so much experience in creating professional digital content.

I also did a night time class in photography learning how to use manual settings and some really cool tricks like long exposure. I've been pretty obsessed lately with upgrading my kit and buying new lenses!

Last weekend I also shot my second wedding at a stunning location in Wellington. I'm looking forward to editing the video as soon as I get the time! It's definitely something I highly enjoy and I hope to get more experience soon.

We had a pretty good summer here in Wellington and I made the most of the beautiful weather on the weekends. I especially enjoyed driving around the coast to Scorching Bay and eating at one of my fave cafes in Wellington - Chocolate Fish.

In February I was meant to go to Queenstown for a fun birthday getaway but unfortunately, that trip had to be cancelled last minute due to a close family member being in a serious car accident. Thankfully, they made a full recovery and that's all that matters!

I did manage to surprise my husband with a long-weekend getaway to Dunedin for his birthday at the end of March. We hired a rental car and had a few fun-filled days exploring the stunning Otago Penisular, the gorgeous beaches and wildlife, admired the Edwardian and Victorian architecture around town, hit up some great cafes and we even spent one night staying at New Zealand's only castle!

I'm always grateful to be able to explore more of my own country. Our next trip will be a long weekend in Christchurch visiting family over Anzac Weekend, so I'm looking forward to that! I haven't spent much time there before.

Other than that, there's a pretty huge life update that I'll share in a post another time... if you follow me on Instagram then you'll already know!

My work contract sadly ends in May but at least I'll finally have the time to get around to the backlog of posts sitting in my drafts! Some upcoming posts to expect include travel tips/long weekend guides to Taranaki, Dunedin, Wellington and Christchurch.

Have a happy Easter everyone and I'll see you in the next post!
